50th Anniversary of San Diego Comic Con, and i missed it!
But i did get to PowerHouse Comic Con at the Alameda County Fairgrounds
in Pleasonton on Sunday, July 21st with my friend Ed Chang.
First Comic Con for me in decades; that's a long story.
Celebrated the Spirit of Comic Con's 50th Anniversary all weekend.
On Saturday, Ed and i attended the 37th Anniversary Sale
of Lee's Comics in Mountain View.
Attacked his collection of 10,000, quater books.
Got a couple dollar, graphic novels, as well.
After #LeesComics Sale, Ed and i had a pleasant meal and chat
at #DanaStreetRoastery in downtown Mountain View.
Also paid a visit to #BooksInc of Mountain View.
Had a wonderful time visiting retailers, chatting with fellow collectors, and admiring and visiting with great cosplayers at #PowerHouseComicCon.
We saw a Nightcrawler-girl from the X-Men; a black cat like Gamer Girl;
the Robot from Lost In Space; and Jasmine of #AtomBombBodyCosplay.
i forgot to get the names of all the cosplayers. i would've like to
Credit them on social media.
Some shout outs to those i met:
- www.AtomBombBody.com ~Jasmine's coplay as the Con mascot;
- and, She has her own, original creations on You Tube, Instagram,
- Pinterest, and Twitter.
- #TheComic Bookies podcast available on itunes, googleplay and spotify.
- #HardlyHeroes podcast. a Con sponsor, available on itunes and podbeam.
- #HeroicVisions by Ken Kolm a retailer with great books.
- write him for details at scrungy@aol.com ~ We had a great chat
- about Cat Companions and Comic Books and stuff.
TiborsComics@yahoo.com has a mailing list for his great,
underground comic book shop/warehouse.
You will need to get on it!
After the day at PowerHouse Comic Con i soent 10 times theĀ
amount of money with Tibor than i did at the Con,
because he has 25,000 comic books and magazines and more ;
and, because Tibor has marvellous discounts at his San Mateo shop.
That's saving the best for last. Thanks!
